RUSP Alignment Legislation
This week, the Senate passed HB 927, which revised the conditions that are tested for comprehensive newborn screening programs to include those listed by the Recommended Uniform Screening Panel. This bill was one I worked hard on this year alongside my House colleague Representative Missy McGee. I appreciate Representative McGee’s partnership in working to make Mississippi the safest state for unborn and newborn babies.
Kids Hub
The Senate was joined this week by the Kids Hub in Hattiesburg! Hillary Gannon and DiDi Standby work at the Kids Hub to protect and serve child abuse victims. Senator Fillingane and I enjoyed having them, and we appreciate the great work they do for Mississippi children!
A very special Senate Page
The Senate had a great helper join us this week: My beautiful daughter, Emma Kathryn, paged for the Senate and did a wonderful job! Lieutenant Governor Hosemann and I greatly appreciate her service and interest in state government.
